COREP was established in December 1987. It is composed of the three Piedmont universities and local bodies: Polytechnic of Torino, University of Torino, University of Eastern Piedmont "A. Avogadro", Region of Piedmont, Province of Torino, City of Torino and Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Crafts and Agriculture of Torino.
COREP effectuates specific collaboration initiatives between the universities, the services and production sectors, and local public institutions in two predominant areas: technology transfer (including European research projects) and high level advanced training (including post graduated Master courses). COREP manages different research laboratories: FRAME (Training, Research-Action, Monitoring, E-learning), LISIN (Laboratory of Engineering of Neuromuscular System and Motor Rehabilitation), LACE (Antennas and electromagnetic compatibility laboratory).
Over the last few years, the Consortium has realised 46 Post graduated master courses, consolidated a leading role in development and support programmes in the Piedmont area and created a large network of local SMEs and public institutions realising with them numerous projects. COREP also has years of experience in user-centred design and assessment of learning and knowledge environments.
COREP has been involved in many European projects (Framework Programme 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th, LIFELONG LEARNING PROGRAMME such as LEONARDO DA VINCI, COMENIUS) either as project coordinator or project member. It has a great experience in the coordination of European projects as well as in the management and development of technical/methodological tasks. In the latest European research projects related to ICT, COREP had an important role also in the pedagogical design and in the assessment and evaluation of systems (3DE, SMARTEDU, LOGOS), designing and executing medium-scale experiments with final users and analyzing results.
